On November 30, Patti Bishop and Gina Katagis, both of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, shared a $96,432.50 jackpot in the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) November 50/50 draw. Patti’s lucky number (N-7579455) was drawn electronically, and she was called immediately.
When Patti got the call, she was in shock. She shared that she and her friend, Gina, alternate buying their tickets together every month.
“We’ve been buying for a couple of years, since it started. I can’t wait to call her,” Patti shared. She got ahold of Gina right away, and it took some convincing for her to believe they won!
“Knowing that the funds support our community and purchase equipment for Sault Area Hospital, we felt it was a good cause,” Patti shares. These lucky friends plan to share some of their winnings with their children – talk about spreading some holiday cheer!
Patti and Gina weren’t the only winners this month – November’s Early Bird, Pete Rancourt of Blind River, ON, was the lucky winner of $10,000 on November 15th with ticket N-5957266.
“It’s great to see long-time supporters as this month’s winners, especially as we celebrate 4 years of SAHF 50/50,” said Teresa Martone, Executive Director for Sault Area Hospital Foundation. “It’s hard to believe that we’ve been running this monthly draw since November 2019. Thanks to community support, it’s raised millions of dollars for critical medical equipment at Sault Area Hospital. We appreciate all of our ticket purchasers and long time supporters, who are helping our hospital provide the best possible care to everyone in Algoma.”
Tickets for SAHF’s December 50/50 draw are on sale now! Get your tickets before December 13th for a chance to win the $10,000 early bird prize – plus every ticket has a chance at the growing jackpot. Final draw for the jackpot is December 29th.
Tickets are 10 for $10; 60 for $20; 200 for $40; or 750 for $75. In addition to online sales at www.soolottery.ca, tickets can be purchased in person at the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Office (750 Great Northern Road) from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Ticket buyers must be 18 years of age or older and in the province of Ontario to play.
