REMEMBER A LOVED ONE
There are so many ways to make memorial gifts: you can make a one-time gift; you can reach out to other friends and family to join you in memorializing your loved one; or you can make a pledge to donate over the next year.
Once gifts in memory of your loved one reach $5,000 or more, there are opportunities for lasting recognition for them in our Hospital.
Did you ask others to donate in memory of your loved one?
If you are among the next-of-kin, and have asked for donations in memory of your loved one to SAHF, please reach out to us at 705-759-3848 or foundation@sah.on.ca and ensure we have your contact information.
We are happy to send you a summary of how much has been received by the Foundation in your loved one's memory, and the contact information of those who donated so you can use it to send thank-you cards.
When donations exceed $5,000, you will also be contacted to confirm the correct spelling of your loved one's name to include them on our "Celebration of Life" wall, and you will receive an invitation to our annual memorial reception.
Once contributions in memory have accumulated to $5,000 or more, the individual's name is added to our Celebration of Life recognition wall. Names are listed alphabetically under the year the individual passed away. The wall is updated annually, and an In Memoriam Reception is held each spring to recognize those whose names are added to this wall.
Once contributions reach $10,000 or more, the individual is recognized on our Garden of Remembrance with an engraved, personalized plate.
Donations in memory of a loved one are a wonderful way to remember those no longer with us, and leave a legacy of care for our community.
RECOGNITION OPPORTUNITIES
The Garden of Remembrance recognition wall is located outside our rear entrance, near the Cancer unit.
