The ice surface at GFL Memorial Gardens is set, and awaiting guests.

The GFL Memorial Gardens was the place to be on November 15 as Ellis Don Facilities Services (SAH) Inc. and Fengate Asset Management presented the Gala in support of Sault Area Hospital Foundation.

Dr. James Boseovski & Mike Stone pose with a replica Stanley Cup - the two won a bid to take the cup home for several days following the event.

The event hosted a crowd of 300+ who were out in their finest and ready for some fun.

They were greeted as they entered by members of the Legion Band playing some lively tunes.

As they walked onto the ice surface, they had the opportunity to be photographed by Kevanna Fine Photography with a replica Stanley Cup.

The evening started with a cocktail reception featuring live jazz music under the direction of Frank Deresti, followed by a plated gourmet meal catered by GFL Memorial Gardens Food and Beverage Team.

Jewellery Lottery Tree

A show-stopping jewellery lottery tree allowed guests to buy their tickets and pick a box for a chance to win.

Paul Paciocco (#181) had his lucky number drawn (Licence M886614), and won the choice of a pair of diamond earrings (valued at $11,000) or a custom piece of jewellery (valued at up to $10,000) – generously donated by Savoy’s Jewellers.

The sold-out lottery raised over $11,000.

Silent Auction Tables

Attendees also helped to raise over $7,000 bidding in the Silent Auction, with prizes generously donated by dozens of supporters, artists, and local businesses.

Vernon Bailey takes a bid on the live auction.

Next, a lively auction led by local legend, Vernon Bailey, provided endless entertainment.

Guests couldn’t resist raising their paddles in response to Bailey’s entertaining encouragement, raising over $27,000 in live auction alone!

The Saturday Nights

The party didn’t stop there. The Saturday Nights got the crowd up, and had them dancing the night away.

“It was wonderful to feel the support for Sault Area Hospital Foundation in the room at the Memorial Gardens on Saturday night,” said Teresa Martone Executive Director, Sault Area Hospital Foundation. “While we’re still tallying the proceeds, I can confidently say this gala has been incredibly successful. Thank you to the hundreds of people who supported this event with donations of auction items, ticket purchases, sponsorships and so much more.”
