On July 31st, Valerie Rydall of Richard’s Landing, ON won a $82,750 jackpot in the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) July 50/50 draw. Valerie’s lucky number (J-7021755) was drawn electronically, and she was called immediately.
Valerie was in total disbelief when she found out she’d won. She had Foundation Staff repeat “You’ve won $82,750,” over the phone so her husband could hear as she laughed in the background.
Valerie had bought her ticket on the first day of sales (June 30th) – happy to support a good cause, but never believing she’d be the lucky winner. When asked what her plans were for the winnings, she shared, “I promised my children a trip to Europe when they finished University. My youngest just finished her degree this spring, so these winnings will pay for that trip!”
Valerie wasn’t the only winner this month – July’s Early Bird, Bill Ansley of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, was the lucky winner of $10,000 on July 12th with ticket J-2499900.
“We’re excited to see the jackpot amount growing again – July was over $10,000 higher than June!” said Teresa Martone, Executive Director for Sault Area Hospital Foundation. “The bigger the jackpot, the more money raised for our hospital – which helps purchase even more critical medical equipment. Thank you to all of our new and loyal ticket buyers: you’re making outstanding care possible at Sault Area Hospital!”
