Silvana Marrelli & Nella Naccarato win $75,000 in the October SAHF 50/50 Draw
Proceeds from Sault Area Hospital Foundation lottery programs help support the purchase of medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital.
On October 30, Silvana Marrelli and Nella Naccarato of Sault Ste. Marie, ON won a guaranteed $75,000 jackpot in the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) October 50/50 draw. Their lucky number (O-33014055) was drawn electronically, and Silvana was called immediately.
“Oh my gosh, you’re kidding me! I can’t believe this!” was Silvana’s reaction when she learned they were lucky winners. Silvana and her neighbour, Nella, have been purchasing SAHF 50/50 tickets together since the draw launched. As soon as she received the news, Silvana ran over to her neighbour's house to surprise her with the win.
The pair are still deciding how they will spend their winnings. “Maybe family, maybe a trip. There are so many different things you can do with that kind of money,” shared Silvana.
For Silvana and Nella, supporting local healthcare has always been the priority. “We will always support our hospital. It’s so important to us,” she said. “The win is an extra bonus, but it's a bonus just to support our hospital.”
Silvana and Nella weren’t the only winners this month – October’s Early Bird, Emily Noble of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, was the lucky $10,000 Early Bird winner on October 15, with ticket O-47808745.
