On June 29th, the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) drew the lucky winners of the 32nd Annual 5-Car Draw. While an incredible six prizes were awarded, everyone in our community is a winner: proceeds from the draw will purchase vital medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital, making outstanding care possible.
Each of the winners of the 5-Car Draw could choose between two vehicles or a cash alternative. The choices were difficult with prizes including cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks along with cash prizes of up to $60,000. All winners this year were local to the Sault Ste. Marie area – showing the great support our community provides to Sault Area Hospital through this lottery.
Grand Prize 1 winner, Brent MacMillan of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket DFC-2416606), couldn’t believe he got the call last Wednesday. Brent had his choice between a 2022 Toyota Tundra CrewMax, a 2022 Dodge Ram or $60,000 – and he chose the cash.
Grand Prize 2 winner, Richard Quesnele of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket DFC-1529060), responded with “are you serious?!” when he found out he was one of the 5 lucky winners. He was given the choice between a 2021 Ford F150, a 2022 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss or $60,000, and he decided on the cash prize.
Grand Prize 3 winner, Robert Calderhead of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket DFC-1945343), had to sit down and catch his breath when he learned he’d won. He was given the choice of a 2022 Ford Bronco Big Bend Sport, a 2022 Mazda CX5 Kuro or $35,000, and he took the cash option.
Grand Prize 4 winner, John LaRochelle of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket DFC-1369851), couldn’t wait to share the news with his fiancé that they’d have their choice between a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe, a 2022 Volkswagen Taos or $35,000. They chose the $35,000 prize.
Finally, Grand Prize 5 winner, Connie Mollame of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket DFC-2516157), said “good golly!” when she found out she’d won her choice of a 2022 Kia Seltos EX AWD, a 2022 Honda Civic SND Sport or $20,000. Connie was the only winner to choose a car – driving home in the Kia Seltos!
The 50/50 Jackpot ran throughout the 5-Car Draw Lottery (May-June) and the winner was also drawn on June 29th. Keith Good of Desbarats, ON (Ticket DFF-5708069) said “you made my day!” when he learned he won the jackpot of $142,800.
“This draw is a great tradition for Sault Area Hospital Foundation, and we’re so happy to see so many local winners this year,” said Teresa Martone – Executive Director, Sault Area Hospital Foundation. “The community support has been incredible, and we’re thrilled to be able to give away these great prizes while raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for local care. With proceeds from these draws purchasing critical medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital, truly our whole community will win.”
More prizes are yet to be announced. Those who purchased “Win Your Way” Calendar tickets are entered into daily draws July 1-July 31. Every day, three winners will be announced on SAHF’s social media channels and website! Calendar winners will have the choice between a $500 Esso Gift Card or $400 cash.
