An Evening at Hogwarts: The Half Blood Prince Breaks Records in Attendance and Fundraising

In November 2025, nearly 500 witches, wizards, and muggles gathered at the Machine Shop for An Evening at Hogwarts: The Half Blood Prince, marking the most successful year yet for the beloved community fundraiser in support of the Sault Area Hospital Foundation.
Thanks to the generosity of attendees, sponsors, vendors, and volunteers, the 2025 event raised an incredible $52,550 for the Sault Area Hospital Foundation. This marks the highest amount raised in a single year and the first time the event has surpassed the $50,000 milestone. Since its inception in 2018, An Evening at Hogwarts has raised a total of $236,998 in support of local cancer care.
“For this committee, this work is deeply personal,” said Erin Mackay, Social Media and Marketing Chair. “Every hour volunteered, and every dollar raised is rooted in something meaningful for each of us. This fundraiser exists because cancer exists in our lives. Every person on this committee has felt its impact, through loss, through fear, and through watching someone they love fight. This is how we honour those experiences and turn them into something that helps others feel less alone.”
The event was brought to life by a dedicated organizing committee and the support of over 80 volunteers, along with almost 70 local sponsors contributing through donations, auctions, swag bags, and local business support. Participants praised the event’s immersive experience and heartfelt mission, describing it as “wonderful,” “magical,” and “a memory that my family will have forever.” Longtime attendees noted the consistency and quality of the event, with many already looking forward to next year.
The organizing committee extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and supported An Evening at Hogwarts, helping to turn a magical night into meaningful support for patients and families in our community.
Planning is already underway for next year’s event, scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, at The Machine Shop. Ticket details will be announced in the spring, with evening gala tickets going on sale in late spring or early summer.
