Darlene Crozier wins $100,0000 in the December SAHF 50/50 Draw

Proceeds from Sault Area Hospital Foundation lottery programs help support the purchase of medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital.
On January 2, Darlene Crozier of Sault Ste. Marie, ON won a $100,000 jackpot in the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) December 50/50 draw. Darlene’s lucky number (D-24258488) was drawn electronically, and she was called immediately.
When we called to deliver the good news, Darlene’s husband saw the number come up on her phone and said “I really think you should answer this.” She was shocked to hear that she had won the SAHF 50/50!
After taking the weekend to let the news settle in, she shared that she plans to use her winnings to spoil her grandchildren and tuck some away. But Darlene’s win isn’t just about the cash, it’s about supporting a great cause.
“It’s important to support our hospital,” she said. “If you’re thinking a
bout getting a ticket, make sure you do! It’s a great cause, and you never know who could be the next big winner.”
Darlene wasn’t the only winner this month – December’s Early Bird, James Erb of Port Stanley, ON, was the lucky winner of $10,000 on December 18, with ticket D-25538599.
“What an incredible way to end 2025! This year alone, SAHF lotteries awarded more than $1.2 million to winners in Algoma and across Ontario. We couldn’t do this without the incredible support of ticket buyers,” said Teresa Martone, Executive Director for Sault Area Hospital Foundation. “That support goes far beyond the big win. Every ticket purchased helps fund critical medical equipment at Sault Area Hospital.”
Tickets for SAHF’s January 50/50 draw are on sale now and you could win BIG! Get your tickets before January 29 at midnight for a chance to win the growing jackpot!
Tickets are 10 for $10; 60 for $20; 200 for $40; or 750 for $75. In addition to online sales at www.soolottery.ca, tickets can be purchased in person at the Sault Area Hospital Foundation Office (750 Great Northern Road) from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Ticket buyers must be 18 years of age or older and in the province of Ontario to play.
