Sault Area Hospital (SAH) is home to the only Emergency Department (ED) in Sault Ste. Marie, and has the largest ED in the Algoma District. When someone is experiencing chest pains, they may need emergency care at SAH.

Telemetry packs are small wearable devices that could be part of their care. These portable trackers – the size of a cell phone – allow care teams to closely monitor a patient’s heart. This spring, six more packs are needed to help expand the number available for emergency care.

These devices offer continuous monitoring to patients while waiting for a physician or a bed. During a cardiac event, a patient’s condition can change quickly. Telemetry packs help care teams respond fast, and prioritize patients who need urgent care.

Extra telemetry packs can help improve patient safety, so more patients can be monitored during critical moments.

Your support can ensure cardiac patients receive the care they need in the emergency department. And thanks to Tony and Anna Ruscio and Family, your donations toward these critical equipment pieces will be matched until June 30.
