MATCH FOR THE LAB

YOU CAN HELP US REACH OUR GOAL

Give today to ensure our Laboratory has the equipment they need to provide the best possible care at Sault Area Hospital.

SAH has two chemistry analyzers that are the backbone of the lab. They run  24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The analyzers perform some of the most common and critical tests. And this year, they need to be replaced.

When JJ, Donna, Mary and Jamie learned the critical role these analyzers play in the lab, they wanted to help. They have generously pledged to match your gifts this spring to fund two new chemistry analyzers for our laboratory.

MATCH OFFER!

Thanks to the generosity of JJ, Donna, Jamie and Mary Hilsinger, your gifts this spring will be MATCHED!

That means...

A $50 gift grows to $100
$100 becomes $200

And $200 turns into $400

But only if you make your gift before June 30, 2025.

Please give today and help us bring new chemistry analyzers to the lab!

HOW MUCH HAS BEEN MATCHED?

Each Chemistry Analyzer will cost approximately $180,000, and two are needed. That means, if every gift is matched, we need to raise at least $180,000 to fully fund both analyzers!

The laboratory at Sault Area Hospital supports testing across the Algoma District. They perform over 2 million tests, every year – and over 870,000 of them use “chemistry analyzers”.

WHAT CAN AN ANALYZER DO?

A chemistry analyzer can run a “STAT” test in minutes!

Check Organ Function

Analyzers show how well your kidneys, liver, and heart are working by measuring things like creatinine or liver enzymes.

Diagnose Diseases

They help detect conditions like diabetes (by measuring blood sugar) or infections (by checking for abnormal chemical levels).

Monitor Treatment

If you’re taking medication, an analyzer can check if the treatment is working or needs adjustment.

Identify Imbalances

Analyzers find problems with electrolytes (like sodium and potassium) which are important for heart, muscle, and brain function.

Emergency Testing

In urgent situations, an analyzer quickly provides critical information to diagnose and treat conditions like dehydration, organ failure, heart attacks, or poisoning.

EVERY NICKEL HAS AN IMPACT

When you think about the 870,000 lab tests run every year on the chemistry analyzers, and that the new analyzers should last 10 more years, that works out to less than 5 cents per test.

And with the matching gift offer, your donation will go 2x as far!
