Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) is inviting expressions of interest from individuals to serve on its Board of Directors (Board).

True to their vision of, “a community united to support the best possible healthcare for every person in Algoma”, SAHF is committed to building a board that reflects diversity in gender, age, cultural background and professional experience. Experience in the following areas would also be considered an asset:

·        In a non-profit environment and with non-profit governance issues; and

·        In fund development, stakeholder engagement, or charitable giving.

As representatives of the community, the Board is responsible for ensuring SAHF makes its best effort to achieve its mission: raising funds together to support outstanding care at Sault Area Hospital. Together, the Board and SAHF’s Executive Director are accountable to the community for its activities and operations. SAHF aims to provide $5 million each year to fund capital medical equipment used on a daily basis by Sault Area Hospital, which cannot be purchased through government funding.

Most medical equipment has a useful life of 7-10 years, and medical technology is advancing rapidly. Perpetually providing funds for new medical equipment at Sault Area Hospital not only ensures the continuation of existing services locally – advances in technology can also help expand services offered, improve patient wait times, reduce the length of hospital stays, and enhance the experiences of caregivers and patients.

To be considered a candidate for the SAHF Board, please submit a letter or email including the reasons for your interest and a resume (if possible) by June 20, 2025 to:
