Meet the 2026 SAHF 5 Car Draw Grand Prize Winners!

Proceeds from Sault Area Hospital Foundation lottery programs support the purchase of medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital.
Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) has wrapped up another successful 5 Car Draw, awarding five lucky winners with their choice of a brand-new vehicle or cash prize. Proceeds from the draw will help fund critical medical equipment at Sault Area Hospital, making outstanding care possible for the Algoma District.
This year’s draw awarded more than $300,000 in prizes, including nine early bird prizes and five grand prizes. Each grand prize winner was given the choice between car or cash, with choices ranging from trucks, cars, and SUVs of all sizes – or up to $80,000 cash.
Grand Prize 1 winner, Yolanda McKeachnie of Sault Ste. Marie, ON (CR-48391684), was shocked to learn that she had won the choice between a Hyundai Venue or $25,000 cash. As a registered nurse, Yolanda sees firsthand how important it is to have the right equipment for patients in our community. She decided to kick off her summer with some cold hard cash.
Grand Prize 2 winner, Clarence Abbott of Sault Ste. Marie, ON (CR-50678659), was in disbelief when he got the call. “Holy smokes!” Not quite convinced, he stopped by the Foundation office to confirm his win, and checked out the car in person. After taking some time to decide on a Mazda 3 Sport GS or $27,000 cash, he took the cash prize.
Grand Prize 3 winner, Kapelynn Cochrane of Swastika, ON (CR-55965409), had been searching for the perfect vehicle for months. After more than 20 test drives, she was feeling like she would never find the right fit. But then, SAHF called to let her know she had the choice between a Toyota RAV4 or $38,000 cash. In the end, the perfect car found Kapelynn: she drove off in her brand-new RAV4!
Grand Prize 4 winner, Laura Boissoneau of Garden River, ON (CR-15534015), has been supporting the 5 Car Draw for many years. Her reason? To help ensure that the services her friends, family, and community rely on are available at Sault Area Hospital. After taking some time to decide between the Honda CRV TrailSport or $47,000 cash, she said yes to the cash prize.
Grand Prize 5 winners, Angelo & Lisa Foggia of Sault Ste. Marie, ON (CR-87709239), might still be in shock from the first phone call. Long-time supporters of SAHF, Angelo is no stranger to winning. He also took home an early bird prize in the SAHF 50/50 in November 2024. This time, the couple was given the choice between a Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or $80,000 cash. While they may still be processing the big win, they ultimately decided to take the cash.

Tickets are available at www.soolottery.ca, select convenience stores and the Sault Area Hospital Foundation office, open Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm. Ticket bundles are: 10 for $10, 60 for $20, 200 for $40, or 750 for $75. Must be 18 years of age or older and in the province of Ontario to play.
