Tristan Grandinetti - SAHF Financial Analyst

Hey! I’m Tristan, the Financial Analyst at Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF). I joined the Foundation in January 2022 because I wanted to do meaningful work that would help our community.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I oversee all financial aspects of SAHF working behind the scenes to make sure every donation is handled with diligence and accountability. I prepare monthly financial statements against operating budget, annual audit, issue charitable tax receipts, and ensure that CRA regulations are met. On a typical day, I prepare reports to support our team to ensure operations and programs run smoothly.

I manage all of our restricted funds – such as Cancer Care, Renal and Medical Imaging. Donor gifts are personal and some donors want to fund a specific piece of equipment or have their donation directed to a specific area. I make sure that each gift is disbursed to Sault Area Hospital in alignment with each donor’s intent.

I also manage our short and medium term investment portfolio to ensure sustainable and responsible growth of SAHF assets.

What do you love most about the work you do?

There’s a lot of detail in what I do, but that’s exactly why I enjoy it. I take pride in making sure everything adds up the way it should.

What I love most about my work is knowing it supports patient care; every spreadsheet and every receipt connects back to real impact in our community.

Why do you work at Sault Area Hospital Foundation?

Working at SAHF is personal for me. It allows me to support our local hospital – the same place that has been there for my family and friends when they needed care. In fact, both of my daughters were born at SAH!

What do you like to do outside of work?

When I’m not in the office, I’m usually spending time with my family. We love watching Bluey, listening to music, and just being together. Whether we are out and about or just hanging out at home, I’m lucky to be surrounded by my family.

If you could choose a theme song for your work day, what would it be?

If I had to pick a theme song for my average day, I would say “Where Is My Mind” by The Pixies sums it up.

What message would you want to share with our supporters/community?

To our supporters and the community: thank you for your generosity. I see every day how your gifts, no matter the size, make a real difference at Sault Area Hospital. Every donation supports patient care, and strengthens healthcare in our community.
