On June 17th, the Sault Area Hospital Foundation (SAHF) announced the lucky winners of the 33rd Annual 5-Car Draw. While an incredible five grand prizes were awarded, everyone is a winner: proceeds from the draw will purchase vital medical equipment for Sault Area Hospital, making outstanding care possible.
Each of the winners of the 5 Car Draw could choose between two vehicles or a cash alternative. The choices were difficult with prizes including cars, SUVs, and pickup trucks along with cash prizes of up to $90,000.
Grand Prize 1 winner, Sylvia Van Hoof of Echo Bay (Ticket #CD-1022447), had to call back to confirm she’d actually won! Sylvia had her choice between a Kia Forte, Hyundai Elantra or $20,000 cash – and she chose to ride off in the Hyundai Elantra.
Grand Prize 2 winner, Jake Speers of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket #CD-3897887), couldn’t believe he was one of the 5 lucky winners. He was given the choice between a Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV4 or $32,000 cash, and he decided on the cash prize.
Grand Prize 3 winner, Randy Kreller of Kitchener (Ticket #CD-3154926), shouted “woohoo” when he learned he’d won. He was given the choice of a Hyundai Sante Fe, Volkswagen Tiguan or $35,000, and he took the cash option.
Grand Prize 4 winner, Trudy Pettenuzzo of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket #CD-6933493), couldn’t wait to share the news with her husband that they’d have their choice between a Honda Ridgeline, Toyota Tundra or $55,000. They danced around the parking lot at the Honda dealership when they decided to drive off in their 2023 Ridgeline.
Finally, Grand Prize 5 winner, Nicholas Pozzebon of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket #CD-3081296), was speechless when he found out he’d his choice of a Chevy Silverado ZR2, Ford F150 Lightning or $90,000. A new father as of just a few weeks ago, Nicholas chose the $90,000 cash prize.
There were also two local winners of the Car Draw’s Early Bird Prizes. Janna Laughlin of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket # CD-1917337) won $5,000 in gas gift cards provided by McDougall Energy and $10,000 cash on May 19, and Anthony Bumbacco of Sault Ste. Marie (Ticket # CD-3182278) won $5,000 provided by Pino’s Get Fresh on June 16.
