Sault Area Hospital Foundation is delighted to announce the release of its 2022-2023 Annual Report; a testament to the support and dedication of our community. This year's report showcases unprecedented success, as a remarkable $5.6 million was raised thanks to the generosity of donors and the commitment of volunteers.
One of the key driving forces behind this success has been a surge in community events, where local businesses, organizations, and individuals came together to rally behind the cause of advancing healthcare in the Algoma District. SAH Foundation is deeply grateful for this outpouring of support, which has proven instrumental in enhancing the quality of care Sault Area Hospital is able to provide.
The 2022-2023 Annual Report highlights several significant milestones that have shaped the landscape of healthcare in Sault Ste. Marie and the wider Algoma region. Among these achievements is the installation of a state-of-the-art MRI machine, valued at $3.2 million. This cutting-edge technology is now a cornerstone of local care, allowing local medical professionals to diagnose and treat patients accurately and efficiently.
The Foundation also provided crucial funding for essential behind-the-scenes equipment, including sterilization tools, laboratory equipment, and software upgrades for the operating rooms. Though out of view for most patients and visitors for the hospital, this equipment is fundamental to providing outstanding care at Sault Area Hospital.
